
Aaron Cockerill Finishes Runner-Up After Playoff in Japan
(Omitama, JAPAN) – Canada’s Aaron Cockerill was just millimeters away from winning his first professional golf tournament over the weekend but it wasn’t meant to be as his putt on the 1st playoff hole at the ISPS Handa Championship caught the edge and lipped out.
Australian Lucas Herbert took the title on the 2nd playoff hole, taking advantage of a great bounce out of the trees and knocking his wedge shot in tight to make birdie.
With the finish Cockerill moves up to 25th position on the Race to Dubai season long points list and makes a big jump up the Official World Golf Rankings to sit in 250th (moving up nearly 130 places).
