Cockerill to make his PGA Tour debut at the 2022 RBC Canadian Open

[TORONTO]— Aaron Cockerill, in the midst of his best professional season, announced today that he has selected One Eleven Management Group for representation moving forward.

Cockerill has skyrocketed up the DP World Tour (formally European Tour) points list this season with a T3 and a career-best T2 in his last six events to sit in 40th position in the race to the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.

“I’m really excited to start working with Jeff Dykeman and One Eleven Management Group,” said Cockerill, a Stony Mountain, Manitoba native. “We have a similar vision on some of the business opportunities that might exist on my journey and I think we both knew pretty quickly that it would be a great fit.”

Cockerill’s DP World Tour season got off to a strong start with 12th-place finish at the Joburg Open in South Africa. Things really took off for the 30-year-old in March when he finished tied for second at the Magical Kenya Open before finishing tied for third just three events later at the ISPA Handa Championship in Spain. That result was propelled by phenomenal third-round score of 62.

“I’m so impressed with what Aaron is doing in Europe right now and with the way he carries himself that this is a really exciting addition for our agency,” said Jeff Dykeman, CEO of One Eleven Management Group. “He’s put himself in a fantastic position to make the next few years pretty special for his golf career and we will do whatever we can to help him with that.”

Cockerill’s fine play overseas has caught the attention of those back home in Canada. He received an exemption into the RBC Canadian Open and he will make his debut in the national championship June 9-12.

“I’m so excited to tee it up at this year’s RBC Canadian Open at St. George’s G&CC,” said Cockerill. “What RBC and Golf Canada have done to elevate this event over the years has been incredible and I am honoured to receive an invitation to tee it up in our National Championship.”

Cockerill will continue his push up the DP World Tour points list this week in Germany for the Porsche European Open.

One Eleven Management Group manages and works with a number of Canada’s most well-known athletes and celebrities including: comedian Gerry Dee; sportscasters James Duthie, Natasha Staniszewski and Lindsay Hamilton; curling stars Jennifer Jones & John Epping; 5-time Olympian Jayna Hefford, PGA Tour Canada winner Noah Steele and Canadian Golf Hall of Famer Rod Spittle.
