[EDMONTON] – TSN SportsCentre anchor Natasha Staniszewski always loves heading back home to Edmonton but it’s a little extra special when it’s for the CFL’s Grey Cup and she’s asked to play a big role in the festivities.

From hosting the Tim Horton’s Kickoff Party in the streets of downtown Edmonton, to co-hosting the Shaw CFL Awards with James Duthie and being on the sidelines at field level during the game – Staniszewski was proud to attend for the entire week.

“Growing up in Edmonton I feel like it’s mandatory to be a big CFL fan,” said Staniszewski. “It’s one of my favourite weeks of the entire year and it was really special to look out in the audience while hosting the Kickoff Party to see some of my family members and friends taking it all in too.”

The Tim Horton’s Kickoff Party was held in the heart of downtown Edmonton as Staniszewski introduced CFL brass, sponsors and local dignitaries to thousands of fans to get Grey Cup week underway.

The SHAW CFL Awards recognizes the greatest players each season and Staniszewski and James Duthie put on a great show as co-hosts. One of the lighter moments of the evening had Duthie asking some of the Redblacks and Stampeders players to try to spell Staniszewski correctly.  After numerous attempts, the only players to successfully do it were the quarterbacks of each team  – Trevor Harris of the Redblacks and Bo Levi Mitchell of the Stampeders.

Natasha shared some behind the scenes action from the week with for her over 53,000 followers on Instagram and 87,000 on twitter .
