[RIO HONDO, ARG]— Noah Steele, one of Canada’s top professional golf prospects, made a surge on Sunday to secure another top-25 finish in only his 4th event on PGA TOUR Latinoamerica finishing with rounds of 68-72-72-66 and 10-under par for the championship.

Steele, a 3-time NCAA tournament champion at Sam Houston State, made the cut with two shots to spare at the Termas de Rio Hondo Invitational in Argentina before making a big move early on Sunday morning in the final round. Steele birdied the first hole and proceeded to add birdies at the 4th, 6th, 8th and 9th to make the turn at 5-under par 31. He then made birdies on the 10th and 11th holes for four consecutive birdies to get his final round to 7-under par through 11 holes and pushing his name way up the leaderboard. He cooled down on the way in with bogies on the 12th and 17th holes for a final round 66.

The T-23 finish gave Steele more valuable Totalplay Cup points as he moved up to 40th position for the year in the race for the reward of the top finishers at season’s end earning Korn Ferry Tour status.

Steele has status on both PGA TOUR Latinoamerica and PGA TOUR Canada for the 2022 season which will give him the luxury of playing both tours to the fullest extent to best secure a card at the next level on the Korn Ferry Tour. In addition, he will try to qualify for June’s RBC Canadian Open on the PGA Tour.
