Team Epping Looking to Get Back in Winner’s Circle at Boost National
[TORONTO]— The 4th Grand Slam of Curling event of the season is underway at the Boost National in Conception Bay, NL and Team Epping hopes to be back in the hunt for another title come the weekend.
After a fantastic opening couple of months as a new squad, the team has stalled a bit by their standards and failed to reach the playoff round for both the Tour Challenge and the Canada Cup.
“We were really happy with our start as a new team but things haven’t really gone our way in the last few events,” said skip John Epping. “All the teams are so talented these days that you need the breaks and the perfect shots at the right time. We feel like we’re very close to getting back to that early season form and we hope we can get ourselves in the mix for another big win this weekend at the Boost National.”
Team Epping currently sits in 2nd behind Team Gushue for the Pinty’s Cup Standings for best finishes during the Grand Slam of Curling Tour 2018-2019 season.
The event will be broadcast on Sportsnet’s live national television coverage this week and Team Epping is hoping to earn some strong TV time again to help showcase their partnerships with Bin There Dump That, VR Mechanical, OS&B, Shipton’s Heating & Cooling, Stu Sells and Balance Plus.
