[TORONTO]— Only five skips have ever won the career grand slam of curling majors but after the performance of Team Epping at last week’s Canadian Beef Masters you can now add John Epping’s name as the 6th in the history books.

Team Epping beat Team Koe 7-4 in the championship game of the Grand Slam of Curling’s Canadian Beef Masters in Truro, NS in an event that featured 8 of the top 10 teams in the world.  With the victory, Team Epping has moved up to the 4th ranked team in the world in the current four-year cycle rankings and has earned more points than any other team this season.

They also collected $30,000 of the $250,000 total purse, a berth in the season-ending Humpty’s Champions Cup and 12 points towards the Pinty’s Cup which is awarded to the season champion following the conclusion of the Players’ Championship.

“We still feel like we have more things to work on as a new team but we’re having so much fun and excited to get back on the ice,” said skip John Epping. “To play our best when it matters feels great and the experience that Brent and Craig have on the big stage has been great for Mat and I to soak up.”
