[MAZATLAN, MEX]— Noah Steele, one of Canada’s top professional golf prospects, put together a strong weekend of golf to secure his first career top-25 finish in only his 3rd event on PGA TOUR Latinoamerica finishing with rounds of 68-71-65-71.

Steele, a 3-time NCAA tournament champion at Sam Houston State, made the cut with a shot to spare at the Estrella del Mar Open before putting on a show on the back nine on Saturday to skyrocket up the leaderboard. After turning at even par Steele reeled off five birdies and one eagle for a 7-under 29 on the closing side to sign for a 65 which matched the lowest round of the day and had him hovering near the top-10. A final round of 71 pushed Steele down the leaderboard on Sunday but the T-24 finish earned him valuable Totalplay Cup points that will reward the top finishers at season’s end with Korn Ferry Tour status.

“I would have liked to have had another great day in the final round like I did on Saturday to see how close we would have been but overall really happy with the week and it’s always fun to visit a place on the map you never been before,” said Steele, a Kingston, Ont., native. “It will be nice to be home for a few weeks to recharge before things really ramp up here and looking forward to the next stretch in March in Argentina.”

Steele has status on both PGA TOUR Latinoamerica and PGA TOUR Canada for the 2022 season which will give him the luxury of playing both tours to the fullest extent to best secure a card at the next level on the Korn Ferry Tour. In addition, he will try to qualify for June’s RBC Canadian Open on the PGA Tour.
